Who would have thought Vegan friendly toiletries would be so easy to find!
I wasn't even looking for them specifically, but both of these line ups were top- and corner shelved and displayed so that they catch the buyer's eye, even when you're not headed for that specific aisle. Good news all round!
VEGAN STYLE
DID WE KNOW THIS?? DID WE KNOW THIS?? Cause I sure didn't.
I half expected it to be another wrong translation, or "use of cool foreign, trendy word", until I picked up the bottle and saw the Vegan and Halal certifications!
Apparently this brand has been available since May in over 380 AEON shops in Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu. I have clearly spend most of this year in lock down and avoiding big supermarkets..
The collaboration line up between AEON and specialist Ori Lab uses a patented prescription that strengthens damaged hair and gives a smooth, moisturized finish. The line up was inspired by the growing demand for natural products and the lifestyle changes accelerated by the growing number of foreign residents. They obtained both Vegan and halal certificates, but recommend their product for anyone who wants to strengthen, and take good care of their hair. The online reviews seem to be quite good!
They use "VEGANPLEX" containing plant-derived levulinic acid that repairs hair.
The bottle is made from Biomass materials
I did not have much time to look into them, as I only found them after paying my groceries, which included ice cream... But I'll be back for this!
SUPERFOOD LAB ORGANICS
I would not have guessed to be this brand to be Vegan friendly, but the "CBD" somehow grabbed my eye (such a fan after starting with Naturecan this year), and to my BIG surprise the label looked like this:
Not only is the formula based on Superfoods and suitable for dry hair,
it also does not contain all your regular nasties like silicon and parabens.
And right there at the last logo: NO ANIMAL MATERIAL.
This was enough for me to pick one up to try - the shampoo with Lavender, Tea tree and Lemon scent, promising a "Calming and Refreshing" experience.
A little research afterwards shows a clean and informative website with supplements, hair- and body care items. They unfortunately do not seem to mention being suitable for Vegans, nor am I familiar with their processes/testing. But it seems to be a decent option.
The lavender scent with lemon accents is very mild, not chemical like some heavier scented brands, and I found it calming on both uses so far. It feels nice and did not dry out my hair - which is a great start.

Please note: I have been Vegan for years, but am still not very familiar with Vegan cosmetics and toiletries, and their ingredients, as back in the UK I used to stick with Vegan labeled items. If I find out any of my posts are not Vegan friendly, I will adjust them immediately.
